i was going to update earlier.
but i got distracted.
you see...the thing is,
there was this really dorky glasses-wearing kid sitting right next to me in the computer lab looking at lesbian internet porn.
in the computer lab.
with his girlfriend beside him.
i know this because the girl said:
"i don't even know why i date you.
all you do is sit around looking at this stuff all day."
to which he replied:
"you date me because of the cock."
so she says:
"every guy has a cock!"
and then he said:

i have the best boyfriend in the world.
he doesnt think im gross when im sick.
and he doesnt even mind holding me when im sick.
i also have the best roommate in all of bsu.
she surprised me with crackers and 7up this morning,
to make me feel better!
she even set up a makeshift table beside my bed from my clothing tubs.
she also has a hot boob tattoo.
throwing up has never felt so good!

-i made a friend in my english class and he listens to the velvet underground.
-i made a friend on my floor and she and i are going to buy the new bjork cd together tonight. she's from chicago and beautiful, and hopefully she can teach me a thing or two.
-gavin and i have a sort of double-date on friday with two new friends, mark and amy.
-i ordered plenty of magazines to get me through my year here (cosmo, glamour, marie claire, AND jane.)
-i turned in my first official college essay this afternoon.
-i woke up to something so surreal this morning. ("...cos nothing's like being held...sometimes")
-nicole is joining us for dinner tonight!
-the lip piercing party has been withheld until justin's gets gav and i some needles.

in my humanities class, we're studying books of the Bible.
i don't think my professor is religious at all,
and she teaches all the stories as if they're only myths.
she always asks questions like, "and why do you think they put this into the story?"
and i just want to say, "...because it happened?"

We're a post-religious society, the only acceptable way of being in our society, and in Europe, is to treat religion with the respect you would any familiar tradition. It's terrible and pretentious. Not everyone is like that though, mainly just professors at small liberal arts schools. Don't let it get to you.

02:30 pm - selmasongs is beautiful, but im looking forward to title tk, honestly.
it feels like i havent updated this thing for a while.
ive been too damn busy for the internet,
so unless ryan decides to come get his chips and hook up my internet...
it's the computer lab for me.
and for some reason i feel really awkward writing anything besides a paper in here.
i bet that guy over there is reading this as we speak..type.
uhm...so gavin and i had our six month anniversary a couple of days ago. i wasn't having the best day. and my mom had called me right before gavin came over to tell me that one of my close aunts had died. so i was in a terrible mood.
he brought me roses.
surprised me, nonetheless.
he dropped me off at my room, and told me he'd call me when he was done with his homework or something.
THEN, he took the bus to walmart, told ryan if i called to lie to me,
and showed up at my room with a vase of roses.
smoochies, babe. good job.
then yesterday he surprised me with the old radiohead "7 television commercials" dvd which i didnt have, for some reason.
mmm that was exciting,
and so the next time i have 30 minutes to spare,
i hope i can watch it.
that is if i can figure out how to hook up my tv.
i dont really know too much...
im going to go eat grapes and drink my diet coke and THEN...

im so happy.
i found this skirt at goodwill that is the most precious bubblegum pink color.
the buttons are super faded, the dress is much too big in the hips, and its too long.
but i got it for only a dollar and a half, went to hancock's and found some decent buttons for a dollar, and, luckily, the thread i need was half off.
i cant wait to reconstruct that baby.
while i was at hancock's, i found a huge, bright blue remnant for a dollar.
it was the best color.
i think im going to turn it into an a-line skirt with a ruffle at the bottom and a side-zipper.
i hope i can finish those before i leave on thursday.
i also hafta put together the seafoam green off-the-shoulder knee-length dress that ive had laying around for about a month.
and gavin's 5 pairs of boxers.
okay.

college is approaching in roughly one week.
i am excited, nervous, scared, and so completely unprepared.
i really hope that my roommate is not:

this post is dedicated to things that i love.
#1: i love that yesterday i told ryan that gavin's car blew up, and he believed me. i love even more that he asked me if it went "up in flames" (to which i responded a solemn "yes."), and i love it even more that i told him that the car was parked and turned off when the explosion occurred.
#2: i love that gavin bought me an oswald the octopus coloring book and crayons. i love even more that one of the charaters is a hotdog with eyes and legs. it looks like pickles. i colored it BLACK. i love even more that gavin will be hanging my beautiful masterpieces proudly on his fridge.
#3: i love that im getting my hair colored tomorrow, and cut thursday. out with the skanky, in with the college. (oh. wait...)
#4: i love that i got a secret grant for college worth about $1300 a year.
#5: i love that i have been spreading the word that joe ozinga and the great n.d. look JUST alike. i love even more that people (people being exclusively katrina) agree with me. i love even more that i havent actually told JOE about this discovery of mine. i love even MORE that joe wont care, and that he might even be proud of this fact.
#6: i love that when an old guy in steak n shake gets his hat stolen by a good-looking teenage rebel at one in the morning, he doesnt notice until said teenage rebel has taken a bathroom break, and the person who gets blamed is none other than jered sheline. i love even more that instead of calling the guy a jerk or giving him a dirty look, jered just kept wondering out loud why the guy wasnt dying of a heart attack. i love even MORE that when i asked why a guy that old would be hanging out at one in the morning, jered said "the better question is, why is he still alive?"

today, gavin and i went to highland park.
it was so nice outside, breezy.
i went swinging and watched the little kids while gavin drew pictures of me in his sketchbook.
i almost told the tiny little boy with the cute glasses that he was handsome.
i said hi to him and he looked at me funny.
so i chickened out.
i think i was the only girl in the area who was older than 10 and younger than 40.
some white trash guy kept driving in circles in his truck and staring at me.
it was so disgusting.
i still dont understand what makes a guy think that even though i've never talked to him, he has the right to look me up and down like that.
it's really gross.
